Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Opportunity

Within the framework of the the Momentum MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme – after receiving a successful application for Call 1 – the "Lendület" Momentum Bioarchaeology Research Group is currently accepting applications for Call 2 from postdoctoral researchers of any nationality, who would like to work on a Roman period bioarchaeology project for 1–2,5 years in Budapest, between 2026 and 2028.

This new joint initiative launched through the collaboration of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the European Research Council offers competitive salaries. Postdocs joining the Momentum Bioarchaeology Program will have the chance to explore various aspects of the project, including:

  • Stable isotopes
  • Human DNA
  • Anthropology
  • Animal DNA
  • Metagenomics
  • Archaeology

If you hold a PhD, are based outside Hungary, and are interested in joining our research for 1–2,5 years, we would love to hear from you!
To apply, a project plan needs to be formulated during December and January, 2025. The topic should align with our Roman Bioarchaeology Program but also introduce a novel research angle.
