The Institute of Archaeogenomics was represented with a presentation and a poster at the 23rd "Genetic Workshops in Hungary" miniconference, held on September 6, 2024, in Szeged.
Szeifert Bea presented the group's latest research findings on the genetic relationships of the population of Transdanubia in the 6th-12th centuries. The title of her presentation was: "Is Change the Only Constant? Genetic Data on the Composition of the Population in the Medieval Carpathian Basin."
Borbély Noémi created a poster on the whole genome analysis of 13th-18th century Székely samples, showcasing the relationship between the Székelys living around Székelyudvarhely in the medieval and early modern periods and the medieval population of Transdanubian and Great Plain areas of the Carpathian Basin. The title of her poster was: "Genomic Analysis of Medieval Székely Samples from the Székelyudvarhely Region."
